Pioneer Car Audio: Trailblazers of Stereo Sound

Pioneer is a world leader in innovative new car audio equipment and stereo technology. Long heralded as a top brand in mobile audio, Pioneer car audio strives to bring new concepts and ideas to their work in order to achieve quality, technically superior Pioneer products.

Pioneer makes speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers, headsets, and a variety of electronic crossovers and other car stereo products. The place where Pioneer focuses the most energy is in CD players and headsets, however.
Two of Pioneers latest developments show their commitment to innovation as clearly as anything they have put out on the market in the past few years: The OEL and the Supertuner IIID.

Pioneer Car Audio and the OEL:  The OEL display represents a huge step forward in graphic faceplate design. OEL stands for Organic Electroluminescent, and Pioneer hopes that its design will help to create a line of safe, easy to read, and simple to operate Pioneer systems for your car.

The OEL display was introduced by Pioneer in 1999, and has been improved on every year since then. It gives the consumer the ability to read the faceplate screen at extremely wide angles, and can even be read in direct sunlight!
It is also a self-emitting interface, and doesn’t need an external light source to be read correctly. The Pioneer car audio developers involved with the OEL claim that this makes it much safer than traditional interface systems because it allows the interface to be easily read and thus keeps the driver’s eyes on the road longer.

Another great feature of the new OEL is the customizable interface. It allows users to tailor fit their interface to whatever they like. It’s as simple as downloading the software from the Pioneer website, making your graphics using jpeg, bmp, or png image files or even animated avi files, and then burning it onto a CD.

When that CD is dropped into a Pioneer headset with the OEL display, it self-loads and presto! You have a graphic interface like no other.
Finally, the soft key operation ensures that your Pioneer car audio headset won’t be bogged down with lots of different buttons. Pioneer has made their OEL units easy to operate by using the same buttons for many different functions. Simply flip thought the tabs for different areas of audio control and new titles are applied to the buttons on the system. Sound simple? It is even easier to operate than you might think.

Pioneer Car Audio Supertuners:  In an effort to increase the power and quality of radio signals, Pioneer has developed a tuner capable of boosting analog radio signals and digitizing them. What that means is that Pioneer car audio can get near-perfect digital sound off of your favourite radio station. The system also has improved stereo imaging and dynamics, which make sure that your left and right signals are at the right volume and the dynamics of the signal are increased. This feature adds depth to your sound which brings it even closer to CD quality.

The Supertuner also improves the Signal to Noise ratio of a radio signal, insuring that you get more bang for your radio buck. You’ll get more actual sound and less white noise, something that creeps in as your signal degrades.
It can find more signals and lock into them so that you never get annoying bandwidth creep. Once it has a signal, it never lets it go until you change the station.

Pioneer car audio is a great way to go if you are into top end car stereos that are always on the leading edge of technological advancement. Then again, even if you care little about name recognition or technology, you can still appreciate the great sound and quality that Pioneer has come to represent.
