June 26, 2004 By: Braden Debruyn Revolutionary Unwired UAH-S2 - wireless two-channel automotive headphone systemUnwired Technology LLC, LLC is a Consumer Electronics Show Innovations 2000 honoree and winner of 'Best of Show' in the Mobile Electronics product category for its revolutionary Unwired UAH-S2. This wireless two-channel automotive headphone system is specifically designed to allow passengers in the same vehicle to listen to different programming. We are honored to have earned the highest score in the Mobile Electronics category and to be awarded Best of Show here at CES, said Lawrence Richenstein, founder and president of Unwired Technology LLC. This is just further confirmation that our desire to be an innovator in the new and growing 'rear seat' automotive entertainment market is being recognized. With the UAH-S2, we have created the ultimate in wireless freedom-- one passenger can listen to music from the radio while the other plays a video game. The UAH-S2 consists of a tiltable infrared wireless transmitter that features 16 high-mode LEDs angled to send the selected signal to occupants in the second and third row seats of a vehicle. Typically positioned on the headliner behind the front seats, the transmitter sends an interference-free infrared signal to multiple high-fidelity stereo headphones. The headphones feature an A/B switch for channel selection and two receivers on both ear pieces, which allow the user to turn his or her head without losing the signal. The headphones also feature individual volume controls and an automatic shut-off switch that activates the moment the user removes the ear pieces, saving on battery life.
