Alpine adds new 2-way single channel speaker set to Type-X flagship series

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., the industry-leading manufacturer of high performance mobile electronics, today announced the expansion of its Flagship Type-X speaker component sets for 2002 with the addition of the SPX-F17M 2-way Component Set.

All Alpine Type-X speakers feature a sleek cosmetic design, custom sound tuning, and supreme multi-channel system-building flexibility, allowing consumers to overcome mounting position limitations.

Type-X component speaker sets also incorporate Alpine's Micro Dynamics concept, the engineering approach developed for the benchmark AlpineF#1Status series of premium products, which emphasizes attention over every nuance of sound field, sound image and sound quality in an effort to yield the very best sound.

The woofers and mid-range speakers featured in the Type-X Flagship sets are housed in ruggedized, custom cast aluminum frames and feature sleek, blue wood fiber cones with a deeper curved conic shape. The wood fiber material has a very high strength-to-weight ratio while providing excellent internal damping characteristic, a feature that results in fewer unwanted sonic peaks and consequently, better sound.

The deeper curved conic shape creates better coupling with the voice coil, placing the higher frequencies in phase with the tweeter for clearer high-end sound. The Low Resonance Multi-Roll Surround, a rubber surround holding the outer edges of the cone to the frame, provides greater mid-bass sound while damping out unwanted resonances.

The multi-channel capabilities of the crossovers allow users to utilize the single channel speakers to create a perfect timbre matched system, or use them as a pair for stereo reproduction.

The Type-X Flagship tweeter's high performance design features a high-grade Neodymium motor structure and tuned air cavity construction for premium clarity and definition.
