Alpine Expands Line of industry’s best displays for cresting customized Mobile Multimedia and Navigation Systems

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., the only mobile electronics manufacturer exclusively dedicated to creating premium audio, visual and navigation systems specifically designed for the in-vehicle environment, will offer an expanded line of premium monitors and audio/visual components this year, leveraging strong consumer demand for mobile multimedia. Alpine's overhead and stand-alone monitors are specifically designed to deliver consistently vivid, wide-angle picture quality and incredible flexibility for building a mobile multimedia system that matches a consumer's needs and aesthetic taste.

Rear seat entertainment and the integration of video displays into the vehicle continues be a strong growth sector for our industry, said Stephen Witt, Alpine's vice president of Brand Marketing. Alpine recognized this trend early on and has spent considerable resources to ensure that our monitors and audio/visual systems deliver the best value and performance in the aftermarket industry today.

Alpine's Overhead Monitor Line-Up

New for 2003 was the PKG-700A rear seat entertainment package. The centerpiece for the package is the TMX-R700, a 7-inch widescreen overhead monitor featuring Alpine's own SmartSwivel™ mechanism and a new hide away box design for easier installation. Alpine's SmartSwivel mechanism allows the monitor to swivel 30º left/right and to tilt, providing a 120º- wide viewing angle from the center and a constant horizontal viewing angle for vivid picture quality and optimal viewing for all rear-seat passengers. Three A/V inputs on the TMX-R700 allow for easy system building with Alpine premium video sources, such as its DVD-7996 in-dash DVD player, DVA-5205 CD/DVD player, TCS-V430A TV tuner, DHA-S680 six-disc DVD changer or third-party video game systems.

The PKG-700A includes Alpine's universal overhead console for easy installation, with cosmetics that integrate with the vehicle's interior. The gray console also can be painted by an installer to match any interior. The PKG-700A comes complete with a wireless remote control and two of Alpine's new SHS-N102 wireless headphones, featuring new cosmetics and better fit ear cups.

In addition, Alpine will continue to offer its TMX-R705, a fully motorized 7-inch widescreen overhead monitor featuring two A/V inputs and one A/V out for large video systems. Alpine's high quality motorized mechanism allows the display to open and close automatically, as well as move side to side and tilt.

Stand Alone Monitors - Perfect for Navigation or Rear Seat Entertainment

Alpine also offers three options for stand-alone monitor applications - the 5.8-inch TME-M580, the 6.5-inch TME-M760 and the fully-motorized 7-inch TME-M790 in-dash monitor. Alpine's stand-alone monitors feature a slim design and easy-to-use buttons on the front panel. The TME-M760 and TME-M580 feature Alpine's own Source Selection Setup Memory, which allows the monitors' visual and audio settings to be specified and stored for maximum picture quality for video games, DVD/VHS movies or other input sources. All three monitors feature a dedicated navigation input, as well as additional A/V inputs for other video sources. With a 16:9 aspect ratio, Alpine's monitors provide vivid visual displays for all passengers, both big and small.
