Alpine Electronics, the industry-leading manufacturer of high performance car audio amplifers

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., the industry-leading manufacturer of high performance mobile electronics, today unveiled a breakthrough in Class-D amplifiers with its new V12 AccuClass-D mono amplifier line, the industry's first to feature a complete digital architecture inside the chassis from input to power amplification stage.

By incorporating this total internal digital architecture, Alpine is the first to bring DSP-based digital sound tuning and precision amplifier control to the market.

Unlike other Class-D amps that modulate from the analog domain, Alpine's new V12 AccuClass-D amps have a custom DSP front end and a highly accurate digital amplifier stage. With this custom DSP and an advanced power supply design, Alpine's V12 AccuClass-D amps set a new industry benchmark for power, stability and value.

Alpine's V12 AccuClass-D amps utilize a high quality analog-to-digital converter at the pre-input section, and a custom DSP processor. By directly amplifying the digital signal, issues such as jitter, distortion and phase shift are rectified.

The DSP also allows users to exercise full digital control over all Bass Engine settings, such as subwoofer level control, parametric EQ and digital crossover.

Bass Engine's advanced digital time correction offers SPL customers the right combination of big bass and maximum power while the bass compensator feature restores compressed music bass content and improves bass detail and thickness.

For power-hungry users who want precision control of their subwoofer system, Alpine's new V12 AccuClass-D mono amp line features an optional RUX-4280 Remote Amplifier Control Center, which allows up to eight mono amps to be linked with synchronized set-up and sound control through one display.

With the RACC system, users also can name each amp, for easy identification in trouble shooting situations. The amp's unified chassis design with front side terminal layout allows the amplifiers to be mounted end-to-end without the need for filler pieces. Single amp users can purchase an optional subwoofer level knob for easy, in-dash adjustment of amp level for maximum control and output.

The new V12 AccuClass-D mono amps also feature the most accurate and easy-to-use amplifier set-up and control in the industry. The amplifier's digital display provides status, protection sensor indicators and detailed set-up information.

In addition to the V12 AccuClass-D models, Alpine has completely redesigned the entire V12 amp lineup for 2002. Five new V12 models based on Alpine's re-engineered V12 power supply and built-in Bass Engine controls raise the performance bar in automotive amplification.

The new DC-DC V12 power supply increases output by 15% and delivers more robust stability under low impedance loads. With one 5/4/3 channel, two 4/3/2 channel and two 2/1 channel models, all with new cosmetics, the V12 lineup offers more sound system configurations for sound quality enthusiasts building stereo or multi-channel systems.

Consumer can mix and match any of the new V12 or V12 AccuClass-D models, thanks to a unified chassis design with hidden wire management built-in to the design.

With this new amp line, Alpine is meeting the needs of power-hungry users with a more efficient design and true digital sound processing benefits, said Stephen Witt, Alpine's vice president of Brand Marketing. We believe Alpine's V12 AccuClass-D mono amps will raise the bar across the industry for amplifier performance and value this year.
