Alpine Announces Availability of new Mobile Video Package

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., the industry-leading manufacturer of high performance mobile electronics, today announced that its new PKG-100G premium mobile video package is available at all authorized Alpine dealers.

The PKG-100G features a 6.8-inch widescreen overhead monitor, a universal overhead console for a sleek, integrated look and two single-source wireless headphones and remote control for a suggested retail index of $1,100.

The PKG-100G components are designed to work seamlessly with Alpine's wide range of premium mobile video sources, including its new in-dash DVA-7996 DVD player and DHA-S680 six-disc DVD changer.

The mobile electronics industry is seeing explosive year-over-year growth in consumer desire for rear seat entertainment systems and more specifically for overhead monitors with integrated cosmetics, said Stephen Witt, Alpine's vice president of Brand Marketing.

With our new PKG-100G package, Alpine is presenting consumers with an easy way to begin creating a high-performance rear-seat entertainment system designed specifically for the in-vehicle environment.

The TMX-R680A features Alpine's own SmartView swivel mechanism, allowing the monitor to swivel 30 degrees both to the left and right, and to tilt as well. This provides a 120 degree-wide viewing angle from the center and a constant horizontal viewing angle, delivering vivid picture quality and ensuring optimal viewing for all rear-seat passengers.

Also, the TMX-R680A features a dome light and a built-in infrared headphone transmitter that works with the SHS-N101wireless headphones and remote control that are included in the package. Two A/V inputs on the TMX-R680A allow for easy system building with optional Alpine video sources, such as a DVD or TV tuner or a video game system.

The PKG-100G package also includes Alpine's KTC-111GY semi-universal overhead console. The KTC-111GY is specifically designed to offer a safe installation base for the TMX-R680A monitor, while incorporating an integrated cosmetic look with the rest of the vehicle's interior. Additionally, the KTC-111GY is available in gray, or can be custom painted by the installer to match the interior of the car.

Alpine personalizes the mobile multimedia experience by offering a set of single-source mobile wireless headphones, allowing users to enjoy premium sound without disrupting other passengers. Featuring Alpine's extended bass driver, the SHS-N101 headphones offer clarity and larger-than-life sound.
