Matsushita Establishes New Car Audio/Navigation System Development Company in China

Panasonic Automotive Systems Company, a subsidiary of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., best known worldwide for its Panasonic brand of consumer electronics and digital communications products, announced that it has established a new product development company in China.

The new company, Panasonic Automotive Systems Development Tianjin Co., Ltd., was established within the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area. To become a development and designing hub for car audios and car navigation systems, PASDT is the second operations base for PAS in China, following the manufacturing company in Dalian, Panasonic Automotive Systems Dalian Co., Ltd.

In order to comply with the increasing and diversifying market needs for automotive electronics, PASDT will promote further localization of product development through active employment of local engineers/researchers, as well as pursuing more efficient development activities.

In addition, the establishment of PASDT in China will realize the global quadripolar R&D structure for car multimedia, following Japan, US and Europe. PAS will take full advantage of PASDT as a foothold for strengthening R&D, manufacturing and sales structure not only for China, but also for the global market.
